This graduate course provides an overview of law enforcement in America. Topics include the changing nature of crime, the history and evolution of law enforcement in America, freedom and justice, criminal and civil offenses, roles and responsibilities of law officers, investigation processing, interviewing, searching and arresting, protecting the rights of citizens, facing the national drug problem, victimization, the courts, and other elements of the criminal justice system.
